It is a common aim of company executives and professionals on the field of energetics as well as anyone interested or studying in this branch of industry, that the theoretical and practical knowledge of the future generations of engineers about the past achievements and traditions, present situation and outlook of this widespread field are as reliable and complete as practically possible.
To promote this, it is of primary importance to help connecting theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enhance communication and co-operation between universities and the industry.
These thoughts lead to the establishment of the Student Association of Energy.
The Association was founded on the 17th October, 2002, with the support of the Scientific Society of Energy Economics (ETE), the Hungarian Electrotechnical Association (MEE) and the Hungarian Energy Association (MET), and based on the co-operation of students of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. As of 4 April, 2008, our Association continues its operation as an officially registered public association.
Our activities include lectures, larger forums and factory visits on a weekly basis, with which we wish to provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge beyond normal BSc or MSc syllabus to anyone who is interested. The lecturers we invite are the most experienced and recognized professionals of their field, thereby ensuring that the programs are up-to-date with the continuously developing technology and changing economic background.
We promote and initiate connections between talented students and the leading companies in the field of energetics. We mediate summer internships, provide opportunity for companies to introduce themselves, give lectures and publish job opportunities. In co-operation with the University staff, organizing the completion of engineering tasks in form of individual students’ projects is also possible.
We are encouraging the continuous professional development of our members also by organizing individual consults and funding conference participation and research projects on basis of application.
In order to develop our international relations, in 2006 we founded the Hungarian Student’s Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers, a world-wide energy management association. As recognition of our work, we were awarded as the Best Student Chapter on the World AEE Conference in Atlanta, 2007. Also in 2007, the first International Youth Conference on Energetics took place in Budapest, hosted by us.
Our activities are continuously being broadened, in accordance with the expectations of the industry, and based on the feedback about the interests of students.
